How to Clean Stove Top Burnt on Grease

My stove top has been an eye sore ever since we moved in to our home, but for some reason kept getting pushed down our priority list.  As you can see, we had grease covering everything--the metal rim, surface, burner and teapot.  We finally found a few cleaning solutions that helped make our stove look like new again (at least close!).

We originally bought Easy Off Stove Top cleaner to remove the grease.  It did an okay job getting rid of the new grease that formed, but did not make a dent in the burnt on grease from the previous owners.  After a ton of online research, we decided to try the Oven & Grill Cleaner by Home Remedy Plus that we originally bought for our oven.  It worked wonders!!

In a few seconds, I could already see the foam eating away at the burnt on grease from the metal rim.  You may have to repeat the process several times before all of the grease is removed, but eventually your stove top will look like new.

WINNER = Home Remedy Plus Oven & Grill Cleaner

There was also quite a bit of build up on our teapot.  To remove grease from your stove top accessories, simply use Dawn soap, water and a bit of elbow grease.  The transformation was quick and left my teapot clean and shiny.

I am so happy with the way it turned out!  I actually want to cook on this surface now.  Next step will be buying appliance paint and repainting the caps and burners to account for the paint that has peeled off over the years.

Do you know of any other cleaning solutions to remove grease?  Have you tried either of these products in the past?
